This policy explains how we handle personal information in connection with My Filament Stock (the "Service"). We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. What we collect

Account information: your name and email address, used to create and sign in to your account.

Data you enter: the stock counts, order quantities, manual order-list items and layout preferences you record in the Service.

Payment information: when you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details; we receive only limited billing information (such as your subscription status) needed to manage your account.

Technical and log data: standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and timestamps, used for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies: a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act). Please do not enter sensitive information into the Service.

2. How we use it

We use personal information to: create and secure your account; operate and provide the Service; process your subscription and payments; save and display your stock data; send you service messages such as your welcome and login emails; respond to your requests; maintain security and prevent misuse; and meet our legal obligations.

3. Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only to:

Stripe, our payment processor, to set up and manage your subscription;

HighLevel, the platform behind our sign-up, billing and email (used via our UpSourced account), which stores your contact details and sends account emails on our behalf;

our hosting and infrastructure providers, who store and process data on our behalf;

parties where required or authorised by law.

Each provider handles your information under its own privacy terms and only as needed to provide its service to us.

4. Where your data is stored

The Service and its database are hosted on infrastructure located in Australia. Some providers we use (such as Stripe and HighLevel) may store or process data outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.

5. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and platform-level security. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep your account and stock data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel, we may retain limited records as required for legal, tax or accounting purposes. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time using the contact details above; we will delete or de-identify it unless we are required to retain it by law.

7. Access and correction

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you using the contact details above. You can also update your name, email and payment details yourself (payment details via the Stripe customer portal, linked from "Account" in the app). We will respond within a reasonable period.

8. Cookies

The Service uses a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. Disabling it will prevent you from logging in.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website and within the Service, with the effective date shown above.

10. Complaints

If you have a privacy concern, contact us first using the details above. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
